C9 Multicolor Twinkle Glass Bulbs E17 Bases (25 Pack)

I have several strings, 2 go way back to the 50's and 2 from the 90's and 2 bought last year. One set is to add to the existing set, and one was a replacement for one of the 90's set I accidentally stepped on, breaking the bulb and socket. Had I known about the individual replacement sockets then, I'd have fixed that 90's string... Oh well.

Anyway, have bulbs of various eras, including old brass based ones from the 50's and various replacements over the years as bulbs burned out each season. I try to keep some translucent steady, opaque (ceramic) ones, and twinkles but the twinkles became hard to find in recent years in local stores and got quite low on them as I like a mix of all three, for both the C9 and C7.5 sizes (the smaller size for my indoor tree) so found this site and ordered a box of multicolor twinkle bulbs in both sizes. The nice thing is each bulb has a bi-metal strip that generates the twinkling effect in each bulb, as long as the string itself is parallel wired as most are these days.

While shipping is a bit on the high side, it's quick so the wait once ordered is not long before arrival. Mine were well packed in lidded divided boxes and none came broken. The smaller C7 was on top of the larger C9 with packing paper crumpled up and stuffed into the empty spaces to prevent the boxes from sliding side to side etc during shipment.

Enclosed is a photo of the tree lit after installation, though I have them off until Thanksgiving to turn on at dusk. I did order one empty string of C9 size to get the very top of the tree but have a gracious plenty extras to finish it off.

I have made several purchases from Christmas Light Source in recent years and have never been disappointed. I love my seasonal C9-bulb twinkle lights and had grown frustrated in the difficulty finding traditional incandescent bulbs in local stores recently. (No fan of LEDs here) Fortunately, CLS not only has them, but in a wide variety of styles...and the ordering process is simple with shipping that's always spectacularly quick.

When I tried these indoors they would be off much longer than they were on. They would flash on for a split second and then be off for five or six. Thankfully once outdoors and in colder temperatures, they twinkled at an appropriate pace. I had these outside in NWPA for roughly 2 months. They held up very well, except for the blue which faded way too fast, and may be unusable next year. They still retain most of their blue color, but look very clear when turned on. Options for C9, incandescent, twinkle lights are limited, and these suffice, but could be improved. And they could probably be 7 W rather than 10.

The lights twinkle ok but I wish they came triple dipped as well. My other lights are triple dipped so they don't match. Out of the box of 25 I ordered, four were broken so the packaging is not adequate.

Exactly what I needed to add to some led bulbs to add some natural twinkle. All in good shape when arrived.

Bulbs arrived quickly. One broken...bummer. if the rest work, no big deal. All of the others are undisturbed, strange, but that's mass production???

Oue bulbs are perfect. Just what we asked for .
