We want to send a big thank you to Roger for sending us photos of his Corvette.
How cool is that?
Materials
- 12-volt multi-color light strings
- Blue painters tape (available at any store that sells paint)
12-volt lights are easy to work with when lighting cars, golf carts, campers and boats because they are manufactured with a plug that fits most accessory outlets. No converters required.
We asked how the lights were installed and this was the response:
We attached the wiring using a good quality painter's tape (masking tape). Sticks well and is easy to remove and leaves no residue or negative effects on paint.

For those who don't paint much, Roger is referring to the weak-adhesive blue tape that peels off walls easily. It's designed to be used when painting around trim and making lines between paint colors, so low adhesion is a must.
Be sure to do a spot test on an inconspicuous area of your car before installing lights this way on your auto.
During times like these, folks are participating in parade-style birthday parties, showers, and graduation ceremonies. Consider adding a few strings of 12-volt lights to make these events a little more cheerful.
